Sick Connor

Connor has slept A LOT over the last three days. This is around 3:00 am in the morning. Note the lack of quilts and sheets. That's because Deirdre threw up all over them. Everyone but me has been throwing up since Friday. We've already washed the sheets and quilts twice, and now have to do it again. OY! Connor is usually a light sleeper but he slept right through the bed change.

Christmas Eve At Nana's

Nana made this reversable cape. Superman is on the other side.
Note the giant plastic kitchen.
We did have a kitchen on their wish list, but it was solid wood. This one came in individual plastic pieces that needed to be cut free and pieced together. It took over two hours.

Voila, our Buche de Noel! Imade and frosted the cake (it's a jelly roll with an almond cream) and Bryan molded the mushrooms from marzipan. He then dusted them with cocoa powder and confectioner's sugar.

Deirdre's new dress from Nana.

Poor sleepy daddy!

Deirdre loves pushing buttons.

Nana!

Our friends came over and helped us put together the kitchen. The kids really do love it, and my friend pointed out that plastic is easier to keep clean. We left the batteries out of the stove.
Yes that's out laundrey in the corner on the couch. Shut up.

Alphabet Jumping Game

For this game, we roll the scattergories dice, and then we jump on the corresponding letter on our alphabet rug.
Deirdre's version of the game is to wear a bucket on her head and make funny noises.

Grrrrrrrrrrr....

Child-Led Walk

Both Montessori and Waldorf educations emphasize the importance of daily contact with nature, even if it is cold outside. Waldorf particularly teaches about the child-led walk, where you follow the child instead of having a destinationor set speed. If the child wants to stop and look at a leaf for five minutes, you stop instead of telling them to hurry along.

Obviously, I have to deter Deirdre from crossing the street, but other than that, she loves walking around the block and usually makes it 3/4 of the way before needing to be carried. She is especially fond of bugs and lawn ornaments. Connor likes to bark back at dogs.

We're Experiencing Technical Difficulties

Please excuse our dust, we're experiencing technical difficulties. A Knucklehead McSpaz-A-Tron posted here when he should have been posting to his personal blog. We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused. We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog already in progress.

The men in the kitchen, where they belong. Uncle Kyle is holding Deirdre.

Story time!

A fun development - Deirdre climbed up there by herself.

Cousin Isaac comes in for his close up.

Deirdre gives you her cute side.

Rice milk is silly!
